Game Rules
It is important that you read and understand these Game Rules before playing Shout Racing (‘Game’). By taking part in the Game, you are agreeing that you have read and agreed to these Game Rules.
Key Rules
You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to play the Game.
The cost of an entry is shown on the individual game card, the ‘Game Info’ tab and at the top of the picker page of the Game.
Pick one horse for each of the races 1-4 and two horses for race 5 to earn points based on their decimal Starting Price multiplied by the value of their finishing place (see Prices & Points section below for definition of Starting Price and how points are calculated).
The aim of the Game is to accumulate the most points from the chosen races to finish at the top of the leaderboard.
It is possible to edit your picks any time up until Race 1 starts, as advertised on the mobile website. Once Race 1 starts or the advertised closing time on the mobile website has been reached, all picks are locked.
The maximum number of entries you can have in a Game is shown on the ‘Game Info’ tab. If you have more than one entry, each entry is separate. You may not change or swap picks from one entry to the other.
If, after the picks close, a horse you have picked is a Non-Runner (‘Non Runner’ means a horse that was declared to race but does not start), you are allocated the horse with the lowest Starting Price – i.e. the favourite at the time the race starts. If there are Joint Favourites (‘Joint Favourites’ means when two or more horses have the same lowest Starting Price), the horse with the lowest saddlecloth number will be selected.
If, before the picks close, a horse you have picked is a Non-Runner, you can edit your pick. If, however, you do not edit your pick before entries close you are allocated the horse with the lowest Starting Price (the favourite at the time the race starts). If there are Joint Favourites, the horse with the lowest saddlecloth number will be selected.
If a race is postponed or delayed, we reserve the right to void the Game and all stakes will be refunded to your account within 5 working days of confirmation that the Game has been voided.
Prices & Points
There are two types of Prices that are used in the Game and to calculate your Points (as defined below).
Guide Price
The Guide Price is the latest price for a horse to win its race as provided by PA Media (see Results, Race Incidents & Data)
Guide Prices are shown to a maximum of 2 decimal places.
Starting Price
The Starting Price is the horse’s final price for the horse to win its race when a race starts as provided by PA Media. (see Results, Race Incidents & Data)
Starting Prices are shown to all available decimal places, and starting prices are used to calculate your Points (See Points Below).
Points: The total points you have accumulated from your picks across the five races will be used to determine your final position on the leaderboard.
To calculate the points for each horse in a race, the Starting Price is multiplied by the below resulted place multiplier (see Results, Race Incidents & Data):
1st place x100
2nd place x40
3rd place x20
4th place x10
5th place x5
6th place and lower x0
Dead Heat: If two or more horses finish the race and place at the same time, they will both receive the same multiplier for that place – i.e. if two horses finish equal 3rd, both their points will be their Starting Price multiplied by x15. This will be calculated by adding the multiplier of the position the horses finished plus the multiplier of the position below and dividing by 2. The next horse to finish will therefore be resulted as finished 5th place and their points will be their Starting Price multiplied by x5.
If your horse does not finish a race, it scores you 0 points.
Your points for each race and in the leaderboard are rounded to the nearest full point (no decimal places) as per:
.5 and above are rounded up; or
below .5 are rounded down.
Players with the same total points amount are considered tied. Fractions of points will not be used as tiebreakers in this situation.
Settlement
Settlement of the Game will be determined by the race incidents and results provided by PA Media (see Race Incidents, Data & Results).
Please be aware that the Game DOES NOT END AFTER THE FINAL RACE in the Game. The Game ends when all race incidents, results, points, and winnings are settled at the earliest of:
30 minutes from the Game finishing (“Settlement”); or
5 days from the Game finishing if Network Gaming identifies a material technical error and/or omission.
At Settlement, no further incoming data or updates are processed, meaning all race incidents, results, points and prize payouts awarded in the Game are final. All finishing positions and prize payouts are also final at this time.
Results, Race Incidents & Data
Results: The winner and results of each race will be awarded on the ‘Weighed In’ result, not on ‘First Past the Post’.
‘Weighed In’ means the competing jockeys have raced at the correct weight, meaning bets can be settled.
‘First Past the Post’ means the first horse to pass the finish line – this is not the official winner as the jockey must still weigh in and any stewards enquiries must be settled before the official result is announced.
Race incidents and results are determined using a live data feed supplied by a third party data provider, PA Media.
We make no modifications whatsoever to the incoming PA Media data.
We are not responsible for the content of the incoming PA Media data and have no liability for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies it may contain.
If PA Media sends new or updated information and/or Network Gaming identifies a technical error, race incidents and their impact upon points and/or leaderboard position may be updated at any time prior to Settlement.
Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of all live data, race incidents and results in the Game. Given the “In Play” nature of each Game, there may be times when the race incidents reported by PA Media and/or Network Gaming differ from the race incidents and results as interpreted by users, media outlets or other data providers.
In situations where race incidents and results in a race are interpreted or reported differently by other users, media outlets or data providers, the interpretation of these race incidents and results as determined by PA Media at Settlement will be final and Network Gaming will pay out prizes accordingly.
No dialogue or correspondence will be entered into regarding race incidents and results reported by Network Gaming and the entrants points or leaderboard position in relation to them. By playing the Game, you accept that the race incidents, results, points and leaderboard position awarded by Network Gaming are final.
Miscellaneous
Network Gaming and their affiliates reserve the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Game where it becomes necessary to do so. We may also amend or withdraw any element of the Game for reasons beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to strike, lock-out, labour dispute, illness, act of God, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, war, riot, civil commotion, accident, public health concern in relation to potential infection, epidemic or pandemic, malicious damage, fire, flood and/or storm, compliance with law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, breakdown of plant, machinery or transportation. Network Gaming and their affiliates are not responsible for any loss or damage caused to you as a result of any of these occurrences.
As stated in the Terms of Service, the Game is brought to you by Network Gaming.
Prizes
Prize Pool – you are competing to win a share of the ‘pool’ of prize money generated by the total entry fees minus our Commission (see Commission below) as set out in the example Prize Pool Payouts Table.
The Prize Pool will increase as more people enter the Game, once the minimum Prize Pool is reached (minimum prize pools for each Game are displayed on the Game card, the Game Info tab and the Game picker page before the Game goes live). For example, if 1,000 entrants enter the Game and each entrant buys one entry, the Prize Pool will be £8,000 (total entry fees minus our Commission). Please note that we may run promotions from time to time offering free entries to help grow the Prize Pool.
The Game will settle and pay out after the weighed-in results for all 5 races are confirmed (see Settlement). The winner(s) will be the entrant(s) with the most points overall and the top 20% of entrants will win a cash payout.
Confirmation of any prizes will be confirmed after all the races have finished and the Game has been settled (see Settlement). During the Game live prizes are shown, which include your share of the pot for your position on the leaderboard. These amounts shown in the Game are provisional estimates of what you will win.
Commission: 20% of the entry fees go to Network Gaming.
All payouts will be made into your wallet within 5 working days of the Game being settled.
In the event that the last eligible prize position is tied, your leaderboard position will be determined by a tiebreaker. The tiebreaker will be decided on whichever entry was purchased first.
The percentages for each position may vary, depending on the number of entries in the Game. The table on the Prizes tab will always show the current percentages for this Game.
The percentages in the table will be paid out of the remaining Prize Pool after the top 20% of players have been allocated 110% of their stake.
